UPDATE:
Dear ODS Members,
In regards to the horse reported stolen on Sunday, our office has received several reports the horse is safe. We have verified with the Lane County Sherriff’s office that the criminal case has been closed by their office.
We appreciate everyone’s kindness and concern.
This stolen horse alert came out today on the Oregon Dressage Society website. The horse was taken from a barn in Eugene, Oregon, about three hours south of Portland.
At 7:30am, my horse, Woric, was stolen from the farm where he was boarded. A gold pick-up pulling a white slant-load 3-horse trailer pulled up. The grey-haired driver and his tall, young, dark-haired female companion loaded my horse up and drove away.
Woric - affectionately known as Wromeo - is a 6yr. old, 16 hand, black Hanoverian gelding registered with the American Hanoverian Society. He has a white short strip on his face and 4 short white socks. He is sweet, affectionate and gentle. For those of you who saw us at the DevonWood and Lake Oswego shows, you know that we were a very good team.
If you have seen this horse, or have any information as to his whereabouts, please contact Biagina Lazaroni, 541-915-4521. If you were hired to haul the horse, please be advised that you have been - perhaps unknowingly - involved in a crime. If you see this horse offered for sale, it is being done so illegally.
The ODS Office has agreed to post updates on the ODS Website’s news page as they become available.

Oh no! How did that happen? If people saw him being loaded, didn't they ask any questions?
Visited a BIG horse complex a few weeks ago where something like that could happen so easily. Little barns where everyone knows everyone's business do have advantages.
Sending prayer that Woric is found safe and sound. *shiver*
I can't believe somebody would be so bold as to do that. People should really know to ask questions when unfamiliar haulers show up.
Hope they find him soon and nothing horrible happens to him. Poor guy.
That poor family! I would be absolutely devistated. I hope they find him and bring him home safe and sound soon (and catch the people responsible).
I hope this is posted all over the country. The description of the truck and trailer should help if it was put out quickly. Please keep us posted if your hear anything.
Just terrible news...what is wrong with people?
We should all repost, and get the word out for you, to the barns around our areas. My heart breaks for you and your gelding. We will all be praying for his return, as well as the prosecution of the thieves involved. Best of luck!
Good Morning! Our barns are over 100 years old...my husband has done some mortar work on the bottom, but it could use a lot more.
Well this is unacceptable. The farm manager might have stepped forward to at least ask questions.
Thank you for your comment on my post regarding The Cove, the documentary. I'm very impressed that you were somehow involved and know this movie. Everyone should see it. I told my sister that I didn't want to see it because it is could be so painful. She said we "Have to see it." She was right.
That's just awful. I hope they get their horse back and it isn't sold off and long gone!! That is what I would be soooo worried about.
I'm happy to hear that the horse has been found. What a nightmare. I know that some people actually put a chip in their horses in case of theft. I've never actually done it because we are a private barn, but I wonder if it isn't a good idea for people who board and go to shows.
Wonderful news that they found the horse and he is safe!
