Class Act

This pretty mare is Maddy's best bud. She is the lead mare and quite a character. If you head for the pasture, she comes running. She can't get enough attention from humans. She is very dramatic with her expressions and she is always thinking. Michelle has taught her how to "point" with her nose to where she wants to be scratched. It is so funny to watch this game go on between horse and human.
I have watched Classy evolve into a wonderful partner for my trainer, Michelle Merkin. I just enjoyed these photos and wanted to a share a little about the horse that keeps Maddy so happy. This bottom picture is "classic" Classy. When she gets an idea, she will stop at nothing to do it. On this day, she wanted THAT piece of grass and turned into a contortionist to get it. Funny girl:-)

re: contortionist - well, a girl has to have standards. Can't just select *any* old blade of grass after all. ;)

That's an interesting trick. As for contortions, I've seen that one before on Trouble trying to figure out if he could get underneath the fence in the dry creek bed. Horses are so funny.

Well, by George, she got that piece of grass!

Beautiful horse and love her personality. It jumps right off my computer screen!

awww...she sounds like my horse. Down to being the herd leader and everything. He only points in the general direction of his itchs though. Then he curls his head into a fake head carrage when I get the really itchy spot. He just started trying to scratch his own itch one day in the stall and couldn't do it so I helped him out and it has been one of his things ever since.

I like the goofy contortionist shot! (And can I just say I'm a bit jealous of that green grass I see?)

I hate to admit this, but if my horse would do that (could do that -- we have wire to the ground), I'd be sticking carrots and things just out of reach so I could watch that contortionist perform.

Hysterical! But didn't her mother ever tell her if she got all twisted up like that she'd get stuck?
