I am a videographer in Portland, Oregon with a love for all things horses. Originally from Minnesota, my childhood was spent on racetracks across the Midwest. I am currently training my dream horse with hopes of excelling at dressage and Parelli. I have a Cairn Terrier, Ellie, and an old cat named Winston. I am fortunate to have a pretty nice boyfriend who understands and supports my love of horses. My blog helps keep a record of my successes and failures and helps friends and family enjoy the journey with me.
I worked Maddy yesterday and was able to turn her out in a small paddock for a couple hours. She did really well and it was nice to see her as a dirty horse. She must have rolled at least 5 times. She just kept touching her mouth to the ground and rubbing on trees. She didn't know what to think of the small pony that was next door rolling and frolicking. It was a beautiful day. For the next week, my goal is to get to the barn every morning and do the same thing. Hopefully by the end of February, she will be fully transitioned to outside life again.
Awww, that was a cute video. She's really SUCH a pretty mare! She has such a pretty color, and she moves beautifully, too. She looks like she's very happy to be out!
Awwwww...she looks like she had fun. Your video really upped my spring fever level though...LOL! By this time in the year it feels like winter will never go away. It's snowing again ta boot. :{ Ugggghhhh! LOL!
I think time out is exactly what she needs. I know mine are lunatics when they've been cooped up and they haven't been locked anywhere near as long as this.
Gosh! What a gorgeous horse! She looks very content being outside to play.
As a new horse owner, I have a question, though. Your mare's back hip looks sort of 'off' or loose. Is it just because she's out of shape from the winter, or does she have some history?
Our new horse comes home next week! But I never tire of seeing ou hearing about other's horses and their own experiences.
Your horse is so beautiful! I am 12 and I all so have a horse. His name is Zipp. It is hard to make a comitmint to an animal but I'm sure it will work for you.I've made comitmints to my horse and when I follow through with them it shows Zipp how much I Love him! So this is for Zipp!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a beautiful thing to see your girl outside enjoying the day. She's a perfectly lovely mare.

Great Blog!
I love that video! She is so cute. It's so nice to watch a horse being a horse from the comfort of my warm bed. :)
