So this is the gang that hit the Tillamook beach last weekend. From left to right we have Carol on Max, Nora on Pantz, Kacy on Wa, Me and Maddy, and a pregnant Jeannette and Dainn.
This was a first for me and Maddy. I was a little nervous about her reaction to the waves, but she was fantastic. She did roll, but that was my fault. I just kept thinking it was deep sand, and I realized too late she was going down!. We had lots and long canters along the beach and then we took the scenic route, following the bay all the way around. It has been a goal of mine to be able to do this, so I felt just estatic to be offered to opportunity to tag along. I had a fantastic time and by day two...Maddy was a beach bum. She loved it too.

Your pony looks awesome on the beach! I have never ridden on the beach, but someday.... Did you have to take precautions to get the sand out of the hooves?
I would so love to be able to ride on a beach. it looks ideal. Nice photos.
Lori
Saddle Mountain= What is a/the precaution for sand in the hooves??
All I know is that Pantz had sores on her pasturns and a few bouts in the waves, 2 days in a row...it is healed!
What great pictures and it looks like such a fun ride, I have always wanted to do this too, maybe I will yet.So glad you got to ride one of your dreams.
I love the picture of you and Maddy alone on the beach. Beauties.
Oh how gorgeous and what a great day! Beautiful horses. That photo of you and Maddy alone is one for enlarging. Salt water is so healing. Gads I miss the ocean.
One of my dreams was to ride a horse along a beach. I was able to accomplish that in the late 70's at Galveston Beach in Texas.
You have a beautiful horse girl. Do you ride English or Western? I wasn't able to tell.
Wow, what fun! Must say I am a tad bit jealous, but at the same time so happy that you are able to finally realize your dreams with Maddy!
You guys look terrific at the beach!!!
I rode on the beach in Sweden a year ago, it was fab! Riding in the water however was a very splashy experience, and Sweden is just a little too cold for that :-D After all, one is not allowed to ride on the beach during "human bathing time".
In Niger, we're all beach though but no water, lol!
Oh you are so lucky! That is definitely on my list of things to do with Jack. I bet he would love it! Too bad about your camera :-( The picture of you and Maddy alone is gorgeous!
That must have been so much fun. I would love to ride on the beach!
Awesome pictures, your horse is lovely! My chances for riding on the beach are pretty slim, I live in southern california where it is too crowded, they don't allow horses on the beach :-(.
