Maddy's Dad

So Mikael asked for some shots of Maddy's dad, Smoken Now.
His nickname is "Pokey." He really is a stunning boy. You would never know he is a stallion, he is so checked in and well-behaved. He is down the road from the Rockin Maddy Ranch, getting in some training. Ray is working cows with him and just putting some miles on him to get him back in shape. He is listed on Dreamhorse for a mere $65,000 if any of my horse friends are looking for a nice stud that always throws color. When my boyfriend Derek first saw a photo of him, he said "Wow, he is like a horse super-hero!" He loves attention and Laura encourages Ray to give him kisses, but so far the cowboy is sticking to his guns and just gives him scratches. He says he doesn't want to spoil him, but Laura, his owner, and I suspect he gives him hugs and kisses when no one is watching. They are quite a pair. It really was a treat to watch him and Ray work together, a solid foundation Quarter Horse with an eternal cowboy. "Pokey" babies are all over the ranch and they are all beautiful. Nice strong legs and beautiful heads. Of course I am partial:-)

Hi is BEAUTIFUL!!! What Muscles! A true horse Hercules!

Do you know something about Maddy's mom? Any pictures? All I know about Arwen is that her mother died, and that she has a younger half brother but no sisters... :-) Horse family relations are important! At for the their owners...

My goodness what a beautiful stallion. Now we know where Maddy gets her good looks. He looks like a $65,000 bargain.

He DOES look like a horse superhero! What a handsome fellow. They need to go have a cape made for him...

Wow, he is a beautiful I as imagined. Such a handsome fellow and sweet too, what a plus!

If he's any good at cutting cows or reining, $65,000 is cheap from what I've seen. Was looking for a while for a talented working AHQA to bred one of my Legs daughters to and have seen some pretty pricey horses in the process. Both stud fees and selling prices.

Thanks for posting the pics and a little more about this great boy!!

I've been meaning to ask, since you are a videographer, do you do horse videos? If so what about farm shoots in my area??

WOW! I am drooling here, seriously... Cow horses are really cool, and buckskin is one of my favorite colors! (Not that I go by color, but it IS a bonus!) What a beautiful boy! Definitely worth the $65,000 - IF you have it ;-D

Very pretty boy; no wonder Maddy is such a looker!

I love how his black points go so far up his front legs. Most of the buckskins/duns I have seen have the darker points go just above the knee.... Very pretty!

I love buckskins too, Maddy and her dad are gorgeous! We saw a buckskin at a three day event a couple of weeks ago. You don't see them eventing very often, but they are so pretty and really stand out in the crowd.
