It took me a week longer than planned to get back to Portland, Oregon due to the weather. Flight cancellations and then the back log of travellers prevented me from getting back. I arrived today and heard that our barn made the news. They were snowbound and battled power outages and lack of hands to help with the battered fences and frozen buckets. I appreciate my boarding place more than ever. They turned the horses out every day to play in the arena and worked round the clock to keep them fed and happy. Thanks Templetons!

Your barn sounds like a great place to keep a horse. There is nothing worse than going away and not feeling comfortable leaving your horse in the care of others. Bet you're glad you're home.
I was hoping to see Maddy get her 15 minutes of fame! I heard the barn owner say her name in the indoor, but didn't see her cute self running around. What a great story though because for us it seems normal, but looking at it like that from the eyes of normal people it really does seem like something special.
Wow, This weather has been nothing if unpredictable! Glad you're home safe!
I'm sorry you couldn't get home but happy that your Maddy was well taken care of. I am so thankful for all the care-givers at my barn, my mare is spoiled and happy and I always feel secure that she is OK.
Maddy is living at one fantastic place. It's terrific the way they kick in and care for the horses, regardless of the weather conditions. Love it when people put horses first! Must give you lots of peace of mind!
Glad you arrived home safely!
My son had problems with his travel plans too. I'll be glad when this weather stuff is over.
I'm glad that Maddy was so well cared for during these storms. She's one lucky horse.
Wow, that's a lot of snow!! That is one great boarding facility. It's so nice being able to sleep at night knowing your horse is getting great care. Enjoy the snow!
Linking to a local news station other than channel 2. What would your bosses say!
Just Kidding.
