Happy Birthday Jerri!

My good friend Jerri over at Learning Horses had a birthday on Friday. We celebrated with a barn dance down at her place in Junction City. She is the lovely lady in the middle. I give Jerri all the credit (and blame:-) for getting me back into the horse world. I stepped away after college, throwing myself into work and moving around the country. About 6 years ago, I realized there was something missing...horses! Knowing I couldn't afford one, I looked for opportunities on Craigslist to ride and I found Jerri. She introduced me to her Paso Finos and re-ignited my passion for riding. She has been a great resource and friend for me. She is considering a move to London. Of course I will be sad to have her leave, but excited for her next adventure. Cheers Jerri...you will always have a special place in my heart for taking me in and offering me the opportunity to ride your beautiful horses.

Thanks for the comment. What is your average winter temperature out there?
We have had many parties in our indoor....with bands and lots of people...the acoustics are great as it is a wooden building with a shingled roof. The way you were dressed at Jerri's birthday party makes it look pretty cold.

What fun! I love having a good mentor to look to and learn from. Sad she is moving away, but HEY! now you have somewhere to stay in London! Did you join J. Savoie's dressage mentor website? I wanted to, but then I missed her deadline!
She is great! I also started on the 7 games with Jacks. I need to watch the whole thing a bunch more times tho. Pat P. talks sooo fast! I love Maddy's brand--a heart--that is super neat!

Happy Belated Birthday! And congratulations to you both on such great blogs!

I found your blog on Lynda Polks' Hoofbeats blog and I'm enjoying it so far. I've been reading blogs because I'm trying to learn more about the horses nominated for USEF's "Horse of the Year" award. I love horse and I'm a huge Arabian horse fan, I had to go with Adams Fire. What a beautiful animal! He is half Arabian, half DHH and there are four continents in his first generation. He is smart and responsive - very Arabian - but he is ALL American in his "melting pot" background.

You should vote! You'll love him and the awards event! ... and you should write about the nominees. I haven't found something like that yet... written by horse fans for other fans.
