Half Trace

Maddy just finished her half trace clip in this picture and realized there was a bag of apples just around the corner. Being a pig trapped in a horse's body, she couldn't resist sneaking around to try to nab them while I was trying to take a picture of her pretty new hairdo. I decided to do just half a trace and see how she does with that before taking so much hair off. Just this past week, the rains have started and the temperature is dipping down at night. The bag of apples was their Halloween treat. I wanted to have them "bob for apples." I cut them in halves and dropped a bunch into their water trough. I have a little video clip of Maddy and Classy trying to figure out why suddenly the water tastes so "applely." Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween.

Every girl loves a new hairdo. Hers looks good. It's fun to bob for apples I'll bet they enjoyed their treats.

Fun video! I'm going to try that with my horse Shiloh, see what happens. ;-)

Maddy seems to be operating on the theory that if you drink the entire tank dry, you will get those apples isolated, plus the other horse won't get them first. What a cute idea.

Oh that is hilarious!
I have one of Dainn from the beach with Jeanette like that..it was the third time he went in and got the apple(he was good!)...then I did the video and everyone rode back and he didn't care anymore!

Maddy just likes the flavored apple water apparently!

Maddy looks nothing like a pig. She can't help it that she loves apples, can she?

Mikael..she really is a piggy:-) I wish I had her metabalism..boy can she eat! The first time a dropped a couple apples in the tank..she actually dunked her head to get them. I think she is trying to be more savvy this time...savoring the water, drinking her way to the apples. It is fun game for you and your horse.

There's nothing like bringing the camera out to make them hide their head, right?

(Found you via an image search for Gray Mare -- you were the second response after this one: http://www.showstableartisans.com/gilding-the-lily/ so now I don't know whether to go shopping or to get the camera *grin* You really do write very well!

Putting apples in the water - what a fun idea for my Okie, who likes to play with everything anyway. I think i will play with him tomorrow - he looks so cute and fuzzy.
