R.I.P.

Rest in peace Eight Belles. You were a beautiful horse and deserved much better than two broken legs and death in front of a crowd of thousands waving betting slips. Amazing athlete with a big heart.

How on earth does that happen? How awful.

So sad. I am heartbroken. Eventually, things will change in horse racing. We have to stay positive that these young horses aren't giving up their lives in vain.
How is your Maddy's hock doing??

Such a heartbreaking event! Between this and the accident at Rolex last weekend, you'd think the press would be all over this issue, but I guess not.

I too believe these horse love to race and want to win, but as you said there needs to be stiffer fines to get horse racing back to a level playing field with no drugs. This was so sad! A true loss to everyone one.
