McIver State Park

Maddy has been adjusting so well to the trails around our boarding facility that we decided to trailer out to McIver State Park on Sunday. She was awesome. I went with two friends from the barn. Shanna was riding little Sterling, the pony and Carrie was riding Cougar, the buckskin I almost bought:-) We did the whole loop and had an amazing time. Lots of trailers there, but we only encountered a couple groups. There is a fenced arena and hitching posts and a place to hose down afterwards. It really is a great set up for horses. I am just so excited to finally be where I want to be with my horse, traveling and trail riding.

Sounds like a great day!

Enjoy! There are few things as fun as trail riding through the woods with friends on a good horse. How did that broken hip case ever turn out at your barn? I was thinking about it the other day.

How were the trails, we are thinking of heading down to mission this weekend. Maybe we should plan an NW blogger ride this summer

I love Mission. I like that more than McIver. McIver was rockier than I expected and lots of ups and. downs. Mission is river bottom and through filbert orchards...both are fun. I am hoping to check out Stub Stuart this coming weekend. I think a NW blogger ride is in order:-)

Good for you! You stayed with Maddy through the tough times and have come out into the sun. Enjoy.

What a reward after all you've been through! I hope you get to go trail riding with your people friends and your horse friends often.

You've won an award. Stop by my blog to pick it up!

Isn't it great to have a nice place to ride? We love our trails. Except the parking lot fills up fast! I wish they'd expand it. If you don't get there early, you don't get a spot! Sometimes we ride and don't pass another group of riders. Other times, we see so many other horses. There are acres and acres we've yet to explore!
Glad you all had fun!

Oh look at Maddy, standing there tied to the horse trailer like an old pro. I'm so glad that things are finally coming together for the two of you. And that place looks absolutely gorgeous. I miss trail riding.

As for a NW blogger ride, I think that would be cool, if it's not too far (portland area maybe would work) and not on a show week end. Also, I need lots of notice so I can get things together here so I can leave and maybe someplace I could keep horses overnight??

How wonderful, I am so jealous! My Missy is just not a trail horse by any stretch of the imagination.
