I am testing out a Circle Y Park and Trail saddle. I love the saddle, but I am worried it is a little wide and sits low on her withers even though it has semi-quarter bars. If I can get down to Salem, I want to stop in at Double H and take some photos and see what they think. I am hoping for nice weather this weekend so I can hit the trails on it. I used it in my lesson today and we had the best passenger lesson yet. I went 25 minutes at the trot. I only had to correct her a handful of times to keep gait. It was awesome. So I am on cloud nine right now and edging closer to my goal of a cantering passenger session.

It is a pretty saddle, though, but fit is ost important!
Circle Y's can be hard to fit, they are not very balanced. I tend to prefer a Dale Chavez, R&S Saddlery, or broken horn. Though quite a bit more than Circle Y.

I'm with Callie fit for the horse is most important for the saddle. If it's too low on the whither, it'll cause problems for the horse. The last thing you want is unsoundness caused by a poor fitting saddle.

But it certainly is a beautiful saddle. It is so wonderful to hear you enthusiastic about riding your pretty mare again.
It does look beautiful, but it looks like it would pinch on the sides of the withers. I'm not much for the Circle Y's.
They always look good, but I don't like the fit, and some of them feel like you are sitting on a bike seat, and force your position in the saddle.
