This time of year it is so hard to decide blanket or no blanket. Well, I chose no blanket and it rained. Who is that grey horse down in the pasture? Ummm, that would be Maddy. She even had mud inside her ears. I do enjoy grooming my horse, so not a big deal. I have been really busy all week. Portland Meadows, the racetrack here in town is done on Tuesday and I have been working on a documentary on the backside all year. I am glad things are coming to an end. It has been a lot of work and I am anxious to just be done so I can have my Saturdays back. Because of my film, I couldn't go with Tracey over at
Mustang Diaries down to pick up her mustang:-( I am really excited and envious of her training experience---how cool is that? Lots of stuff coming up in the next two weeks. I am going to a Dan Cecil clinic next Sunday. He trained under
Clinton Anderson. I am looking for some strategies to deal with Maddy's defiance. I find that as she gets more confident, she gets reluctant. We are doing lots of riding and planning a trail ride tomorrow if the weather is good. I have my little dressage horse back....you can see her after a good brushing modeling her lovely Wintec Pro.

That is a really beautiful facility where you are keeping Maddy. Good thing you are getting those Saturdays back. I've been feeling frustrated because we are on a storm track where it's warm and sunny on the weekdays, while the wind, rain, and snow blow in on the weekends. I can only work with the horses on the weekends, so I feel cheated.
a trail ride I am jealous. Maddy looks very spiffy in her saddle. Hey if you are bored and and have time come down to the state fair grounds for the show next saturday. Rides go all day from 8-6. It is a fun relaxed show. You can get the details on the ODS website.
I'm so over the mud! But as I saw a woman with her white horse today I was grateful for my brown horse with no white feet.
We have no mud in Niger; just a constant layer of thin white dust... But fortunately, it is rarely too cold for a shower either, so it's quickly fixed!
MUD?!? I would LOVE to see some mud! I am soooo sick of snow and ice! I want spring dang it...LOL! ACK! Anyway...she sure cleans up nice! :)
I had a white horse who absolutely loved the mud. It always amazed me the places he could get it in!! I usually had to go and get a head start on grooming before everyone else so we could all go at the same time!!
