Dirtiest Horse Award

I think this time of year we can all relate. Go to the barn, muddy horse, clean muddy horse, turnout, go to the barn, muddy horse, clean muddy horse, turnout and so on and so on and so on. This was Maddy's pile of grime on Sunday. I set my size 9 foot next to it just so you get a sense for how dirty my mare loves to get. I am issuing a "Muddy Horse Challenge"....anyone out there have a horse dirtier than mine? I would love to see a picture.

Not yet - we're still too cold for mud - but give me a chance - we've got unbelievable mud as soon as the snow melts.

Were the ground not covered with snow I could so beat you with Gennyral! He rolls so hard that even his eye lashes have mud on them! And we have even broken a blanket bar once because his muddy blanket was soooo heavy it bent it while I had it on there to dry!

You win. Err Maddy wins... Sonny has the mud, but prefers to keep it on the ground. OTB's Genny though.,.... wait till snow melts..lol... he has mad mud skills!

Glad to see you are up and about after the accident. Been thinking about you, hoping all is well!

There's a few horses in the barn that could give Maddy a run for the mud. Not yet though we're getting a major snowstorm today/tomorrow.

Wow - I am sure I can find some mud bogging horse to clean off - but do I have the gumption to get that much off in one sitting? Not when it's below 20 degrees! You deserve an award :)I think Maddy does too on this one!

Oh, that is a lot of mud! Gilly gets pretty muddy too but right now, no mud! Lots of snow!

No mud here at the moment either. Just snow, and more snow, and more snow as the second storm sweeps up the coast.

My guys are pretty good here. They mostly roll in the sandy riding arena an even though the sand has clay in it, it just isn't as bad as really muddy mud.

But when I boarded out, I can recall a few times....well, let's just say that pile you swept up looks awfully familiar.

Happy to know you are up and around after your accident. Hope you are feeling lots better.

You totally win! My boy loves to roll in the mud it just doesn't stick to his slick TB coat. Lucky me!

Mine were still in their blankies until recently. I took them off and it was full two days before they rolled in the mud..SHOCK!

Not too much mud here and pretty soon it will dry, hot and dusty. I can't WAIT, it has been a long Winter!

I am afraid I will have to forfeit the prize this time...my horse elbows have me blanketing still! Otherwise Jules...you'd have a run for first on that mudd pile...Wa mare loves the mudd so much!

No mud piles here....but OH THE HAIR!!! My filly is shedding like mad, thanks to blankets and lights, so I've got quite the hair pile in my barn!

Oh, all we have had is MUD for TWO months. Sorry I don't have any current pics....
Trust me when I tell you that sadly we may just have you beat! RAIN MUST LEAVE!!! LEAVE! Jackson also showed up from the pasture on Wed. not only as mudman, but with his tail FULL of branches full of thorns. Does that count too? LORDY!
Shorty the spotted App has won our contest at the ranch with his white coat and spots...he is no longer white, ANYWHERE.
Admirable pile of dirt tho!
:) Mindy
