Hittin the Trail

I needed a day to just ride. I wanted to get out into the woods and just be one with my horse. Life has been pretty busy the past couple of weeks. I flew to Colorado to talk with the Parellis, we wrapped on our Keiko Documentary and submitted it to Sundance, I spent countless hours at the chiropractor after the trailer accident, and this weekend was my boyfriend's 20 year class reunion. Whew! I was so happy to hit the trails today and relax. We are in the middle of a heat wave here in Oregon, but you wouldn't know it when deep in the forest. Maddy and I were out for about three hours. I found a couple tree farms I hadn't ridden through before and a great new cantering path. I took a quick video clip while riding through and even managed to set my camera on a stump and get a "not so great" self portrait. Dang leaf! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

I recently watched a documentary on Keiko that was really, really well done. His story is amazing and so sad too! I hope things went well for you with Parelli!

Glad you got some good ride time in! Your forest paths looks so inviting, love Maddy's mane floating along as you ride!
Are you feeling better now? I, luckily didn't have to go to the chiropractor after my fall. Boy, these horses are rough on us! :-)
It's cool here this morning, unlike August weather so I think I am going to head out for a morning ride myself!

Glad you got a good relaxing ride in. The picture and video showed a very nice quiet trail, very pretty.
Keiko's story is sad but interesting. I love whales, hope your documentary is a hit at Sundance.

It certainly sounds like you've been busy. That's a self-portrait? What did you do? Set your camera up on a tripod or hang it from a branch and set the timer, then run back and mount? Or maybe you never dismounted, and rode up to a branch to hang the camera and set the timer?

That is a beautiful trail with all the ferns - I bet it was so peaceful - just you and your horse. I found your blog by way of NuzMuz's blog.
