She has been giving you everything she had and more. It makes me so sad.

I know the stall rest will be hard. Maybe you can hang some toys that she can bang at with her head to help occupy her mind. That and maybe see if you can "quiet" her food down some.

I don't know what you're feeding but stall rest can be easier without alfalfa and no type of grain. Valarian root (not sure of the spelling) but it is a natural calmative that seems to work well, I know it's not legal to show on but I think is a main ingredient in Quitex

I've been so behind on my blogging this past week, even missed a post on my blot, MiKael's Mania - Arabian Horses sure felt sad to come back to visit and find this news!Rising Rainbowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04239592070775412669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2387445478250109835.post-15290161824326819282007-08-17T07:17:00.000-07:002007-08-17T07:17:00.000-07:00wow! so sorry!!medicating her to keep her on stal...wow! so sorry!!

medicating her to keep her on stall rest isn't as bad as you think it will be. I have been doing a lot of reading and planning. Thinking of teaching Maddy how to paint on canvas. I saw a video of a horse doing that once and thought it was pretty cute. And I want to learn more about clicker training. We are going to make the best of this. She is an amazing girl that always does what I ask, so I'll just tell her she just has to get better. Thanks again you guys. Much love:-)photogchichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14822162590502709534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2387445478250109835.post-79770181403107929982007-08-16T05:58:00.000-07:002007-08-16T05:58:00.000-07:00I am so sorry! It was a long time ago (15 years ago) so I don't even remember everything she went through.

In time it will just be a distant memory for you too. Just remember this is only a small setback in your journey together. I bought my gelding sick, he had white line disease in both front hooves, he was covered in bot eggs and they told me he had pre-navicular signs. But I couldn't leave him there, so I just made a commitment and he's been the best horse I've ever owned. It will all work out. Maddy will thank you for it, I promise.
Take care,
Dawn~Dawn~https://www.blogger.com/profile/11985552841183098701noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2387445478250109835.post-75299891757264928932007-08-15T06:47:00.000-07:002007-08-15T06:47:00.000-07:00Wow. Don't know what else to say - just keep doing the good job you're doing, and hopefully this will heal quickly and you can get back to funner times with her.
